Sandey is the WMU XV's head coach, he is an alumni of WMU Rugby and has helped continue the winning tradition at WMU built on hard work through his coaching style and passion for the game. Coach Slevatz has instilled a strong rugby culture within the club emphasizing honor, accountability, and integrity.

A founding father of rugby in Kalamazoo and at WMU, Mark serves as an assistant coach in 15s mostly working with the backs, and as the head coach for the 7s team. Mark helped lead WMU to a MAC championship in 2018 in 15s, and a national runner-up finish in 2019 for 7s.

With an extensive professional career in rugby including playing for the USA eagles in 2009 & 2010, as well as the MLR from 2017-2020, Ata has been a great presence for WMU Rugby, and has brought world class rugby knowledge to the club.

Growing up in Tonga, rugby was part of Samisi's culture. He played most of his school rugby in Tonga, then had an opportunity to play in Australia, New Zealand, and other parts of the world. Semisi helped lead the 2019 team to a 2nd place finish in the 7s national championship
